Meet Me @ The Altar Takes the Pop-Punk Music Scene by Storm

On Thursday, March 23, the all female pop-punk band Meet Me @ the Altar took to The Echo stage in Los Angeles, CA to perform an energetic set in front of a sold out crowd. The band, which is composed of lead vocalist Edith Victoria, bass guitarist Téa Campbell, and drummer Ada Juarez, has been traveling all over the United States on their headlining tour promoting their debut album, Past // Present // Future, which was released on March 10 of this year . Before the show began, excited fans mingled in anticipation, connecting with one another about their favorite songs and band moments. The audience was treated to openers Daisy Grenade and Young Culture, both who are based in New York. Both support acts were met with loud applause and crowd participation. In between bands, The Echo played 2000’s hits from Hannah Montana, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, and more, which a large number of attendees sang along to. 

As Meet Me @ the Altar came out onstage, the crowd went absolutely crazy as the first few notes of the first single from their debut album, “Say it to my face” began. The beginning of their set included both new and old songs, including “Beyond My Control,” “Hit Like a Girl,” and “T.M.I.” At one point in the set, Edith asked that everyone create an all female mosh pit within the crowd. Everyone who did not identify as female was asked to step back and make room. During the break in songs, Edith explained that they wanted to play the band members’ personal favorite songs. They played short clips of “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morisette, “Complicated” by Avril Lavigne, and “Take Me Away” by Christina Vidal. Towards the end of the set, fans were treated to an acoustic version of “Feel A Thing” from the band’s 2019 EP Model Citizen, as well as hit songs “Kool” and “Garden.”

The female pop-punk trio is on their way to taking the music scene by storm. With powerful vocals, honest lyrics, and popular artists like Steve Lacy in attendance showing support, the band will soon be selling out much larger venues. Catch Meet Me @ the Altar at Outloud Raising Voices Festival in West Hollywood, CA on June 4. They will also be traveling all over North America on their second headlining tour, The Pink Couch Tour, this summer!
